Mountain View

I live in the mountains of Pennsylvania and the peace here is unbelievable.  I lived in Maryland for most of my life but came back home to the mountains about 4 years ago.  Nothing beats the mountains, open skies, beautiful scenery and nice people.  This is the view from the cemetery where my grandmother is buried.  I hope I get to be laid to rest here, with the rest of my ancestors.

Below is the view from the trailer I grew up in until I was about 8-9 years old.  The weather was gloomy that day so unfortunately this picture is not all bright and sunny.  There was not much to see other than nature when i was growing up.  I was a little flower child, running through the yard and fields with my hair flying...smelling the flowers and day dreaming about being a grown up.

The picture below is the scenery from the back yard of the trailer I grew up in...dirty road, fields and tree's.

Below is a tree I planted at my Grandma's where I used to live as a child.  Everyone said it would not grow because I had gotten it out of a lucky charms cereal offer and it looked like a little twig.  I told my aunt's and mom that this tree would grow and I planted it myself...with Grandma's help.  Over time that tree grew and grew and is now a big pine tree that gets decorated for christmas by my Aunt.  She stayed in the trailer after my Grandma passed away.

Some of the pictures are dark because the weather was not good that day.  When I get over there to visit my aunt again I will take better pictures.

Decorating Walls

Oh decorating..I am very simple when it comes to decorating!  My walls are white and I have black picture frames hanging.  That is the extent of my decorating abilities.  I have two crosses hanging up with vines running all around them which is probably the most creative thing I have done.  I just took this fake vine and wrapped it all around and through these crosses that I picked up from the dollar store years ago and I put this fake flower at the top.  Here are some pictures of the decorations I have in my home:

I put a clock and these two inspirational photos on this piece of wall that had empty space.  I don't like random empty space so i put these up.  I bought the inspirational pictures at www.ltdcommodities.com.  Go to that website and sign up for a free catalog and check out what they have.

I like straight lines and as little clutter as possible.  I have no idea how to color coordinate or ANYTHING decorative I just throw stuff together and it ends up working out.  I looked around the web and found a bunch of designs of things thrown together that just seem to work...I found alot of these idea's on www.shelterness.com

As much as I hate clutter, I actually like this arrangement of eclectic pieces.

This looks simple to do and find.  They sell pictures and big mirrors like this at the dollar store and walmart.  You may be able to get away with decorating similarly with about $20.

I had to post this picture...I love the color on the wall and the family tree painted on the wall with the family pictures hanging from it.  That is very creative and unique.  If I ever own a place someday I totally want to do something like this.

Some people like to cover their walls with many things.  I personally cannot stand it, I like simple.

It seems that decorating with pictures is all the rave these days.  I think it is nice also, to be surrounded by pictures of those you love.  My Wall decor consists of pictures of my children and family.  If you have things hanging in random places all crooked and sideways...get up and re-decorate.  The dollar store and walmart are awesome places to get nice wall decorations and picture frames.  Chose a theme for the whole room and go with it.  Good luck...post pictures!!
